YWLA Youth Mentors
"This is an experience you can always go back to and that is going to help you. This a one in a lifetime chance, so try it. It can only benefit you in all senses and does not hurt you in any possible way."
–Youth Mentor 2008

Youth mentorship is a major component of the Young Worker Leadership Academy. In addition to leading activities with YWLA participants, mentors also attend sessions where they receive auxiliary training on workplace health and safety issues and leadership development. Mentors finish up their YWLA experience by creating a Safe Jobs for Youth Month project after the Academy has ended.
Mentors either return to the Young Worker Leadership Academy as alumni or apply and attend the academy as first-time participants.
If you are interested in becoming a YWLA mentor, please download the application and return it to the Young Workers Project coordinator. If you have questions about becoming a youth mentor, please contact us.
