Jessica Marques is the Course Coordinator for the Worker Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program (WOSHTEP), contributing her many skills to project trainings, awareness sessions and follow up efforts.    She served as the Coordinator for the Southern California Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (SoCalCOSH) while attending UCLA as an undergraduate majoring in International Development Studies with a minor in Latin American Studies. Ms. Marques has served as a safety and health advocate within the labor movement with experience as a worker/student organizer and as organizer and safety and health coordinator for AFSCME Local 3299 in Los Angeles and AFSCME Council 31 in Chicago.

As the coordinator for the safety and health initiatives at AFSCME Council 31 she led efforts in developing a safety and health training and leadership development for healthcare workers attempting to organize in 9 medical centers of Resurrection Health Care. As an organizer she coordinated and facilitated trainings, coordinated outreach efforts, developed organizing strategies and provided technical assistance.

Ms. Marques also has a research background in investigating effective outreach and prevention methods for improving lifestyle quality of vulnerable populations. Having recently returned to Los Angeles from the Masters of Public Health Program at the University of Illinois, Chicago School of Public Health, Ms. Marques's research stems from her academic preparation as a public health professional with a focus in Behavioral Science and Community Health.
