Jessica Barcellona is the LOSH Health and Safety Training Coordinator. She works with a number of the LOSH programs including the WOSHTEP and Hazardous Waste/HazMat Training projects. Ms. Barcellona is coordinating planning for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences National Trainers’ Exchange coming up in March of 2007. She also coordinates the WOSHTEP trainers’ network. As a WOSH trainer herself, Ms. Barcellona brings with her a solid understanding of the program.
Prior to joining the LOSH staff, she worked with Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in both New York and Los Angeles. As a health and safety specialist with SEIU 1199 in New York, Ms. Barcellona coordinated a number of Train the Trainer and trainer refresher programs for healthcare worker-trainers. After moving to L.A. in 2004, she coordinated the Hazmat program with SEIU United Healthcare workers. Ms. Barcellona has also worked with Rutgers University’s worker-training program and the Labor Institute.
Ms. Barcellona is a graduate of Drew University with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Latin American Studies. She has spent time living and traveling in south and central America.
