40 Hour Site Worker Training

The Hazardous Waste General Site Worker Curriculum complies with the California Code of Regulations Title 8 Chapter 4 Section 5192 (a - p).

The course includes 40-hour training with demonstrations and hands-on experience. Some of the activities are instrument-use exercises, barrel overpacking/leaking drums demonstration, initial site survey exercise, decontamination exercise, barrel content identification exercise, sampling safety lecture, and confined space equipment demonstration.

The course also includes extensive hands-on training where participants perform routine respirator maintenance. They don a variety of respiratory protection devices including air purifying respirators, self contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. In addition, they develop a site health and safety plan.

Before taking part in HAZWOPER Training, I did not like participative training. I would have rather had someone just give me the information and let me go. But after experiencing LOSH's participative hands-on training method, I was sold on the effectiveness of their training techniques. -- Course Participant
