The UCLA-LOSH Hazardous Waste Worker Training Program provides up-to-date health and safety training to hazardous waste workers in the private and public sector; this training has been offered since 1987.
UCLA-LOSH also provides emergency response training for Hazardous Materials First Responders and Industry Response Teams.
Annual Refresher Training is available for all courses.
UCLA-LOSH is currently working with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association to establish a joint labor management training program for Ports personnel on the West Coast.
UCLA-LOSH is funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. We are the lead agency for the Western Region Universities Consortium. Members of our Consortium include: UC Berkeley’s Labor Occupational Health Program, University Extension at UC Davis, Arizona State University, and the University of Washington. UCLA-LOSH complies with 29 CFR 1910.120, Appendix E Training Curriculum Guidelines. These guidelines were established in order to provide the best possible learning environment for hazardous waste workers and emergency response personnel.
Our classes count towards ABIH Certification Maintenance Points!
