Jann Whetstone is the HazMat Outreach Coordinator and Trainer for LOSH.
Ms. Whetstone's
position is funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ (NIEHS) supplemental grant awarded under LOSH’s HAZWOPER Program (Worker Education and Training Program). She also provides consultation and support for other LOSH projects as a WOSHTEP Trainer.
Ms. Whetstone's background is in the Construction and Building Trades. Prior to joining LOSH she served as Outreach Coordinator for the State Building and Construction Trades Council (SBCTC) Building California Construction Careers Program. There she extensively worked with building trade apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships, school districts, workforce development centers, community and faith based organizations, juvenile and adult correctional facilities.
Ms. Whetstone is a journey-level inside wireman electrician from IBEW Local 11; she completed a five year apprenticeship in 2003. Her passions are volunteering in underserved communities and motivational speaking.
